Montelago Village Resort Beerfest 2016

Lake Las Vegas Beer Fest- Glass

On a good ol’, slightly toasty, Las Vegas summer day, the Montelago Village Resort Beerfest was held throughout the outdoor portion of the property. There were some musical acts on the stage, food trucks slinging treats, a great variety of beer vendors, beer related craft vendors, and the all important cold water station; Pretty much everything that I look for in a solid beerfest. Albeit there are other beerfests out there that have models pouring their suds and celebrities abound, this one was nice because the people pouring the beer were the people that make and/or sell the actual product. That’s always a nice change because you can actually converse with the person pouring and they not only know what they’re talking about, they also exude an absolute passion for it. Overall, this beerfest was quaint and well structured. The only thing I’d really like to see in any future events at this location is a better overall “Lake Las Vegas” experience. The booths were all spread about in the “mall” portion of the village, I’d like to see them bordering the lake side to really add a wow factor. I know space is limited, but I think with a little planning, they have a great opportunity to showcase the lake a little more. That being said, I did enjoy myself at this event and know that it will just get better as time goes by. For a nice little jaunt to Lake Las Vegas, the Montelago Village Resort Beerfest made the trip worthwhile.

7 Location

Well…Double edged sword here, the Lake is beautiful and the location is nice overall, but… it's a little bit of a drive, especially for a drinking event. Would've liked to have seen an Uber/Lyft station setup.

9 Beer Selection

Selection was great, lots of local representation as well.

7 Price

$40 something for any beerfest is a decent price, the only thing that I personally don't care for is having paid food options within a venue that you've already paid to be in. I think the food trucks could have had a discount deal or something to entice people a little more.

8 Entertainment

During my visit I only heard one band, but I know there were more throughout the night. But the one I did hear was entertaining!

7.75 Overall

A pretty well rounded beerfest experience, I think with a little work on the layout and maybe some kind of complimentary food options, this can turn into a stellar yearly beerfest!
